This recipe for Chocolate covered strawberries is ideal for a romantic dessert or just to really spoil yourself! Everyone loves Chocolate and everyone loves Strawberries thats a win-win!!
Ingredients:
- 50 Fresh strawberries, with stems left intact
- 1 (12-ounce) pack semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips or 270g of Cooking chocolate
- 3/4 cup Single cream
When preparing your strawberries make sure they are completely dry before dipping them. This is important! Otherwise you risk "seizing" the chocolate and ruining it.
Line a baking tray or cookie pan with greaseproof paper then using one of the below methods, melt the chocolate :
Boiling:
Place a glass or stainless steel bowl over a pot of simmering water, adding the chocolate and the cream to the bowl and stirring until fluid (about 5 minutes.)
Microwave Melting Chocolate:
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips using Low power Microwave for 1 minute, then check and stir. If you need more time, do it in 10-20 seconds intervals.
DIPPING INSTRUCTIONS: Hold the stem or green leaves of the strawberry and dip into the chocolate and swirl in chocolate to partially cover. Go for a two thirds covering and leave the very top unvarnished. Give the strawberry a little shake as you lift it out of the chocolate. Place on the prepared greaseproof sheet. Allow the chocolate to harden for about 30 minutes. Transfer finished Chocolate strawberries onto a serving platter and serve!
